mon petit chou chou...

According to one New Year's tradition, cabbage is king of good fortune. All summer long we grew various varieties of cabbage. My favorites were the Primero and Charmant varieties from Territorial Seed Company.

Cabbages actually store for quite some time in the fridge. I picked a huge purple Primero from the garden back in November, and saved it until now.

New Years Day we enjoyed apple sausage with a colorful side of cabbage sautéed with apples, onions, seasoned with celery seeds and apple cider vinegar.

Let’s see if eating it actually brings us good fortune.
