submerging visible land...

As darkness fades to light, I awaken to a valley of fog,
rubbing my eyes and looking again,
that is not fog, it is water!
A flowing lake of brown, icy cold, debris laden water,
uprooting trees, buildings and lives in the valley below.
Tangled trees trapped at cross roads,
walls and doors can't stop the rush,
desperate people loosing treasures of the past.
What of the animals, the sheep, the cows, the horses of the pastoral fields?
More water dumps down from the sky.
Huge piles of dirty snow melting near by.

These are the things that make me cry.

  1. You captured the day beautifully (for there is beauty in words and photos, even if the subject matter is not). I pray for strength for the members of our little community.

And I thank you for visiting my blog - how'd you find me?
